About the position

The Front Desk Agent/Night Audit position at Texas Western Hospitality Group involves managing guest reservations, check-ins, and check-outs in a courteous and efficient manner. The role requires a focus on customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction, and handling various administrative tasks related to hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Books guest reservations and coordinates with the reservation center.
  • Registers guests into the hotel promptly and courteously, using up-selling techniques to maximize room rates.
  • Prepares for group check-ins, check-outs, and VIP arrivals.
  • Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
  • Handles confidential information, including guest records, with integrity.
  • Answers and routes calls appropriately; takes guest messages accurately.
  • Assists with sales and marketing efforts as directed by the General Manager.
  • Offers and properly handles requests for wake-up calls.
  • Records pertinent guest information in the pass on log.
  • Replenishes continental breakfast as needed and keeps the area clean.
  • Ensures common area/lobby is clean.
  • Performs laundry functions as directed.
  • Processes customer payments according to established policies and procedures.
  • Promotes hotel services, facilities, and outlets, and stays informed about upcoming events.
  • Answers guests' questions about the property and amenities, and refers them to area attractions.
  • Arranges transportation for guests to and from the hotel when necessary.
  • Uses creative reasoning to overcome guest objections and ensure satisfaction.
  • Resolves minor guest complaints and informs supervisor of major issues.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner.
  • Completes daily paperwork including cashing out and documenting adjustments.
  • Handles departmental accounting of monies, receipts, and guest accounts; posts all charges.
  • Balances cash bag at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Transmits and receives messages using various communication equipment.
  • Maintains a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic accounting skills for handling cash and guest accounts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves
