About the position

The Front Desk Attendant at Big Cedar Lodge is responsible for delivering friendly and professional service to guests during their check-in and check-out processes. This role ensures guest satisfaction, maintains effective communication with various departments, and supervises Front Desk employees to uphold service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receive guests in a professional and friendly manner, satisfying guest expectations from arrival through to departure.
  • Maintain effective communication with all related departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Maintain an awareness of rate levels to be sold on a daily basis and the occupancy levels.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all Front Office employees, particularly Front Desk Agents.
  • Supervise all Front Desk employees, ensuring guests are taken care of in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of resort and local services, supplying information and responding to guest queries.
  • Ensure all guest registrations are completed and correspond with guest information.
  • Ensure staff morale is good and keep staff busy, ensuring all checklist items are completed by the end of their shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Trade, Tech or Vocational Education in Hospitality preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is required.
  • Previous Front Desk experience preferred.
  • Effective written communication skills appropriate for the audience.
  • Basic computer skills including personal computers and word processing software.
  • Ability to listen and understand information presented through spoken words.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality or resort management.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate staff.
