About the position

The Front Desk Clerk at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove is responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs, processing payments, and addressing guest inquiries and requests. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for guests, maintaining the hotel's high standards of service and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Process all guest check-in registrations by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys.
  • Handle all types of payments including accommodation charges and cash, check, or credit card transactions.
  • Manage guest accounts, including disputed charges or late check-out fees.
  • Attend to, log, and process all calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns from guests.
  • Coordinate with the Housekeeping Department to ensure rooms are ready for guest arrivals.
  • Communicate parking procedures to guests and dispatch bell staff or service personnel as needed.
  • Provide directions and information to guests about the hotel and local attractions.
  • Prepare daily reports (number of arrivals and departures), identify special requests, and review reports for accuracy.
  • Complete designated cashier reports and closing reports in the computer system.
  • Cash personal checks and traveler's checks for guests.
  • Count the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Balance and deliver receipts according to Accounting specifications.
  • Comply with all company security and safety policies and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate guest service needs and address them; thank guests with genuine appreciation; assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Follow quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

  • No prior related work experience required.
