About the position

The Front Desk Receptionist at Takoma Wellness Center plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This position involves managing customer interactions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with cannabis regulations. The ideal candidate is passionate about customer care and has a background in retail or hospitality, contributing to the center's mission of providing high-quality cannabis products with a personal touch.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
• Advocate for cannabis customer care and build rapport with regular patients/customers.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Engage in ongoing cannabis education and training.
• Support managers and Patient Consultants as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized storefront.
• Ensure compliance with DC Medical Cannabis regulations.
• Assist patients with the DC Medical Cannabis application process.
• Perform clerical tasks including maintaining inventory and patient records.
• Help train new staff members as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of retail or hospitality experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Required to undergo a criminal background check and appropriate state badging.
• Prefer a current medical marijuana card holder but must be willing to obtain one.
• Ability to use office equipment and software, including Word, Excel, and email.
• Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry.
