About the position

The Fuel Store Assistant General Manager at TravelCenters of America plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager with the operations and marketing functions of the Fuel Building. This position involves staffing, training, and supervising staff to enhance profitability and ensure excellent customer service. The Assistant General Manager is expected to lead the team, foster a positive work environment, and adhere to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager with operations and marketing functions of the Fuel Building.
  • Staff, train, and develop team members to improve performance and customer service.
  • Ensure a positive and trusting atmosphere for team members and guests.
  • Achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service, and facility processes.
  • Adhere to safety standards and company guidelines on vendor relationships.
  • Assume duties of any hourly associate position as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related industry preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational understanding of POS software.
