About The Position

The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for managing all aspects of financial record-keeping for the organization, ensuring compliance with nonprofit and sales-related accounting standards. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in budgeting and reporting, and supporting audit preparations while working closely with the Finance & Administration Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online accounting software, Shopify, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit financial management principles.
  • Knowledge of sales tracking and inventory management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with donor management systems platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile all financial transactions, including contributions, grants, and sales revenue.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, credit card transactions, and petty cash.
  • Oversee and track restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the Board and Executive Leadership.
  • Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting principles (GAAP) and organizational policies.
  • Maintain and update internal financial procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
  • Track and report on revenue from product or service sales.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure accurate cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) reporting.
  • Reconcile online and in-person sales systems with accounting records.
  • Assist in preparation and organize financial records for audits.
  • Liaise with external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process.
  • Assist with fundraising and sales teams to support financial aspects of campaigns or initiatives.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
