About the position

The position involves extensive data analysis and costing engineering responsibilities. The Data Analyst will collect, organize, and interpret large sets of data from various internal sources, identifying trends and insights to support data-driven decisions across departments. The role requires summarizing and communicating analysis results to management and non-technical stakeholders, developing and maintaining databases and data collection systems, and preparing reports and visualizations to present data insights clearly. Additionally, the analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and provide data-driven recommendations, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The Costing Engineering aspect involves developing and maintaining detailed cost estimates for products and projects, discussing technical, price, and delivery requirements, and advising on automation tools to improve costing procedures. The role also emphasizes professional growth and training, requiring the analyst to keep current with state-of-the-art practices in data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and interpret large sets of data from various internal sources
  • Identify trends, patterns, and insights to support data-driven decisions across departments
  • Summarize and communicate analysis results to management and non-technical stakeholders
  • Develop, implement, and maintain databases, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Prepare reports, visualizations, and dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable way
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Monitor data accuracy and integrity, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Create and maintain documentation on processes, methodologies, and data sources
  • Work with project teams to make system changes as required to optimize processes and outputs
  • Provide full stack support by interacting with the entire data pipeline
  • Write SQL queries to access and manipulate data in relational databases
  • Develop scripts to automate data processing tasks
  • Extract data from various sources using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Cleanse and transform raw data to ensure quality and consistency
  • Develop data pipelines to automate data ingestion and processing
  • Develop, analyze and maintain detailed cost estimates for products, projects, or production processes
  • Discuss and present technical, price, and delivery requirement trade-offs
  • Recommend standard product options for prototype and production solutions
  • Identify and pursue requirements for custom design, value added assembly, additional testing/design verification or process changes
  • Advise and develop automation tools to improve costing procedure and enhance accuracy
  • Keep knowledge and expertise within Data Analytics current with state-of-the-art practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, VB/VBA, MATLAB)
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing
  • Knowledge of machine learning and predictive modeling is a plus
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes
