About The Position

The Full-Stack Developer at Smart City will focus on developing and maintaining a highly accessible marketing website that complies with ADA/WCAG standards. This role involves collaborating with the Marketing Team to enhance user experience and accessibility, while also transitioning into supporting various internal software solutions to improve business workflows. The developer will ensure the website meets functional and accessibility standards, contributing to the company's mission of inclusivity and efficiency.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of demonstrated full-stack experience.
• 3+ years with relational databases, preferably in MySQL.
• Detailed understanding of RESTful API Design.
• Preferred experience working with WordPress.
• Experience with GCP-hosted web applications.
• Experience working in an Agile Delivery model.
• Experience working in a Continuous Deployment model.
• Experience using Version Control such as Git.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PHP frameworks (Symfony, Laravel).
• Familiarity with performance optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a WCAG/ADA-compliant WordPress website.
• Work closely with the Marketing Team to implement new features and user-friendly designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to accessibility and usability.
• Develop public user-facing components using React, Vue, or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Implement performance optimizations for fast loading times.
• Build and maintain scalable back-end systems using PHP frameworks and relational databases.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate website performance and accessibility.
• Transition into the development of internal software solutions as workload allows.
• Maintain and enhance internal systems with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
• Ensure clear communication regarding project progress, challenges, and successes.
• Participate in Agile Scrum meetings to manage workloads and prioritize tasks.
• Stay updated on industry trends, accessibility best practices, and emerging technologies.
