About the position

Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services' company, is seeking a Full Stack Developer Subject Matter Expert to provide software development support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Enterprise Data Catalog Support (EDC). This role involves providing expertise and hands-on programming support in the integration of Alation software into the EDC project. The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for both front-end and back-end development, ensuring that applications are built to meet stringent process management, quality assurance, configuration management, and security conformance controls. The ideal candidate will work closely with the EDCS CA lead and the scrum master to identify work/user stories to be performed during sprints. They will be expected to build fully operational applications, update tracking tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, and GitHub daily, and provide status updates during daily standups. All work must be documented and tested according to the team's test plans and best practices. The developer will also participate in various meetings to support contract requirements and ensure efficient support to the CDC. In addition to development tasks, the Full Stack Developer will provide maintenance and enhancement services, troubleshoot and repair customized production applications, and conduct all efforts following a standard prescribed methodology. Responsibilities

  • Perform front and backend development, including application programming, testing, debugging, and integration support.
  • Work with the EDCS CA lead and the scrum master to identify work/user stories to be performed during the sprint.
  • Build fully operational applications following a standard prescribed methodology that ensures stringent process management, quality assurance, configuration management, and security conformance control.
  • Update the tracking tool (JIRA, Azure DevOps, and/or GitHub) daily.
  • Provide status updates during daily standups and identify blockers that will prevent them from completing all work assigned during the sprint.
  • Document all work appropriately and test to meet unit, integration, load, and user acceptance testing as defined by the team's test plans and/or best practices.
  • Participate in product owner meetings, end customer meetings, demonstrations, user support meetings, or other meetings to enable the EDCS team to support contract requirements successfully.
  • Meet documentation requirements for all process, technical, and operational requirements needed to enable efficient support to the CDC.
  • Deliver all prescribed documentation consistent with the level of project effort.
  • Provide maintenance and enhancement services, including modernization and feasible customization of business applications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair customized production applications with requirements analysis, quality assurance testing, and updated documentation.
  • Conduct all maintenance and enhancement efforts following a standard prescribed methodology that ensures stringent project management, quality assurance, configuration management, and security conformance controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in both front and backend complete solution software development, including designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications
  • Experience with Alation and/or API development highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise with Python, C#, REACT, .NET Frameworks, Postgres SQL, Node JS, GitHub, HTML, Angular, JavaScript, CSS
  • Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Possession of strong communication and presentation skills
  • JIRA and/or Azure DevOps experience
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices and CI/CD technologies
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, or software products.
