About The Position

The Senior NodeJS Software Engineer will be responsible for building resilient and scalable APIs for Aetna Health customers using cloud technologies and development methodologies. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into engineering components, ensuring high reliability and performance of digital solutions throughout the development life cycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of NodeJS development with TypeScript.
• 2+ years of Cloud Experience, preferably with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• 1+ year of experience in an Agile-based development environment using CI/CD and TDD.
• Strong experience with monitoring and observability and building scalable services.
• Understanding of various database solutions (SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience developing GraphQL APIs.
• Exposure to product/services development on cloud-based platforms (i.e. Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Experience developing applications in Java/J2EE, Spring boot.
• Experience developing applications using Airflow.
• Professional experience with PostGres SQL on AWS.
• Professional experience with DynamoDB and AWS Simple Queuing Services.

Responsibilities

• Build resilient and scalable APIs for Aetna Health customers.
• Collaborate with Engineering manager, Architects, Quality assurance, Business partners, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, and Project managers.
• Translate business requirements and architectural designs into engineering components.
• Make high-level architectural decisions and propose design patterns.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of digital solutions.
• Write code, develop software components, and implement complex functionalities according to product requirements.
• Integrate various software components or systems for seamless communication.
• Write and execute comprehensive test cases, conduct code reviews, and troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in SAFe agile or other development methodologies and contribute to project planning.
• Explore new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve digital solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with team members.
