About the position

Passaic County Community College is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Nurse Education program. This is a full-time, tenure track position for a qualified faculty member to teach medical surgical and mental health nursing in an ADN nursing program. The Nurse Education Program is located on the Passaic campus. Faculty in the Department of Nurse Education report directly to the Associate Dean of Nurse Education.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Nurse Education Program
  • Select, supervise, and evaluate student learning experiences
  • Lecture on courses and instruct students in the clinical area that are within specialty
  • Provide students with consistent and effective support and guidance for retention and success
  • Assist with the development of course materials
  • Serve on policy making committees of the institution and the Nurse Education Program
  • Communicate and interpret the objectives for student clinical practice to nursing service personnel
  • Participate in the selection of faculty and staff within the Nurse Education Program
  • Maintain up-to-date professional competence by participating in on-going clinical practice, continuing education, and professional conferences
  • Participate in college and community related activities
  • Assist in the orientation of new faculty
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Associate Dean

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in nursing is required, Doctorate preferred
  • RN license or eligible - State of New Jersey
  • Qualified to teach Medical Surgical and Mental Health Nursing
  • Three years' experience in clinical nursing practice within the specialty appropriate to appointed position
  • Collaborates with colleagues and personnel in clinical agencies
  • Current knowledge of associate degree nursing and teaching methodologies preferred
  • Previous experience in an urban community college setting
