Garden Center Sales Associate

Hillside Garden Ace Hardware is a family-owned and operated hardware store & garden center located in Belmont Massachusetts. Responsibilities

• Engage with customers by greeting, acknowledging, and offering product recommendations based on strong product and property knowledge
• Communicate with team members based on customer inquiries in order to provide outstanding customer service
• Assist with the movement of inventory through restocking, floor moves, and display maintenance
• Perform other general maintenance tasks including housekeeping and product maintenance
• Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures when pricing merchandise
• Perform related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of perennials/annuals and/or herbs and veggies, or past employment experience in these areas is highly preferred
• Basic knowledge of soils, fertilizers, pests, and plant-related disease is a plus
• Ability to operate forklift and front-loader, or willingness to learn
• Demonstrated ability to offer excellent customer service skills
• Strong verbal communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Work or personal experience in the retail, horticultural, or gardening fields preferred
