About the position

Vector Talent Solutions is seeking Gas Module Exchange Technicians to join our team in Crown Point, Indiana. This position is integral to our operations in the construction support services industry, which includes utility construction, public works inspection, traffic management, and more. As a Gas Module Exchange Technician, you will work independently under the supervision of the Gas Module Foreman, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and with minimal error. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of appropriate safety equipment while performing assignments. You will have the opportunity to join the union within 30 days of hire, which reflects our commitment to employee development and support. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and inspecting new gas modules to ensure their proper functionality. Your daily tasks will include performing field service tasks such as equipment repair and maintenance, operating a light truck to transport equipment to various work sites, and utilizing handheld devices for data entry and programming of gas modules. You will also be expected to evaluate module testing results and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors to maintain strong working relationships. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you can gain valuable experience in various technical fields while working with a proactive team. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, experience in outdoor work, and a willingness to learn through on-the-job training. Responsibilities

  • Installs and inspects new gas modules to ensure proper functionality.
  • Performs field service tasks including equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Operates a light truck to load and unload equipment and drive to work sites.
  • Uses handheld devices to enter data and program gas modules.
  • Adheres to scheduling and attendance requirements.
  • Works autonomously, reporting to Gas Module Exchange Foreman.
  • Utilizes appropriate safety equipment and follows safety procedures in performing assignments.
  • Evaluates module testing results to make adjustments.
  • Communicates with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and the public to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working outdoors (landscaping, construction, painting, roofing, etc.).
  • Willingness to join the union within 30 days upon being hired.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and technology functions.
  • Ability to work with low voltage systems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions and instructions.
  • Ability to learn job-related material through on-the-job training and in classroom settings.
  • Ability to work at a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to follow safety rules, policies, and procedures and be aware of the safety of others in the area.
  • Ability to comprehend and make inferences from written material.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools for various tasks.
