About the position
The position provides highly complex analytical, operational, and/or technical support at the business/department level within Global Capital Markets. The jobholder will be responsible for developing and producing complex ad-hoc and automated departmental reports and spreadsheets, including project or product strategy analysis, profitability, historical reporting, workflow, and financial analysis in support of the Global Capital Markets business. Additionally, the role involves researching and gathering business and financial information regarding business results to support these activities, completing moderately complex analyses to support business decisions, and providing feedback to management regarding results with recommendations on findings. The job requires a thorough understanding of the Global Capital Markets business and its functions, processes, and operations, as well as staying current on business and market trends that may affect the business/department. The position also involves managing the planning, developing, and implementing of various projects and initiatives within Global Capital Markets to achieve short and long-term business objectives, including developing project plans and managing daily project activities. Furthermore, the role may involve setting policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of procedures or controls related to compliance requirements, managing budget and profitability reporting, and promoting an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce complex ad-hoc and automated departmental reports and spreadsheets.
- Research and gather business and financial information regarding business results.
- Complete moderately complex analyses to support business decisions.
- Provide feedback to management regarding results and make recommendations on findings.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Global Capital Markets business and its functions.
- Manage the planning, developing, and implementing of various projects and initiatives.
- Define and participate in achievement of short and long-term business objectives.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.

- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in the field, or a combined minimum of 7 years' higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 3 years' experience in the field.
- Highly skilled proficiency in use of pertinent spreadsheets, graphing, and presentation software.
- Working knowledge of financial models.
- Excellent knowledge of pertinent operating systems.
