About the position

The General Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) position at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is designed for a motivated individual with a strong interest in general cardiology. The role involves both inpatient and ambulatory clinical settings, focusing on providing high-quality care and education to cardiac patients and their families. The position offers opportunities for collaboration with various cardiology subspecialties and includes responsibilities such as assessment, diagnosis, and management of cardiac conditions, as well as participation in teaching and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate high-quality care to cardiac patients and their families.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage complex and acute cardiac conditions.
  • Triage cardiac patients at community hospitals for transfer to the tertiary care center.
  • Manage chronic cardiac conditions and act as a patient advocate.
  • Collaborate effectively with all members of the treatment team.
  • Participate in teaching roles and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Strong interest and background in general cardiology.
  • Preferably two years of experience as an APRN or PA, but willing to train motivated new graduates or those with relevant RN experience.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in cardiology subspecialties such as Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, and Interventional and Structural Heart teams.
