About the position

The Warren County Educational Service Center is seeking a dedicated General Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year at the Warren County Learning Center in Franklin, Ohio. This position is designed for educators who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students, particularly those with social-emotional learning needs and behavioral challenges. The role involves providing daily instruction to assigned students, preparing lesson plans, and supervising and disciplining students in a supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be able to implement a co-teaching model alongside a program intervention specialist and collaborate effectively with support professionals to enhance student learning outcomes. In this position, the teacher will be responsible for delivering core academic instruction in a small group setting, utilizing various teaching strategies and motivational techniques to engage students. The teacher will also evaluate student progress through assessments and observations, communicate regularly with parents, and maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy. The role requires a commitment to professional development and adherence to the adopted Board policies, ensuring a safe and productive classroom environment. The Warren County Learning Center operates across three campuses in Franklin and Mason, Ohio, and is committed to providing educational and mental health services to students who have experienced trauma. Responsibilities

  • Provides daily instruction to assigned students utilizing effective teaching strategies and techniques.
  • Prepares daily lesson plans that incorporate ODE content standards and various instructional materials.
  • Supervises students in accordance with the student discipline code.
  • Evaluates student performance through tests, curriculum assessments, and observations.
  • Communicates with parents and documents all interactions in the school phone log.
  • Confers with personnel regarding student progress and needs.
  • Provides intervention for students requiring additional instruction.
  • Requisitions supplies, curriculum materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Maintains required certifications and licenses.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance and maintains professional competence through ongoing education.
  • Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
  • Models appropriate professional behavior and appearance.
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned by the principal or director.

Requirements

  • Valid Ohio Certification/Licensure
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License
  • Access to own motor vehicle
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted
  • Pass criminal background check
