About The Position

The General Engineer position at the Washington Navy Yard involves identifying, developing, and implementing solutions related to advanced reentry body concepts. Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-3 (GS-12/13) grade level.
• Degree in Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.

Nice To Haves

• Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE).
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and implement recommendations and solutions to problems related to advanced reentry body concepts.
• Serve as a nationally recognized authority to develop methods and practical concepts for Navy test programs.
• Manage the overall budget plan for advanced reentry concept areas, including costs and risks associated with operations.
• Coordinate with other program branches on inputs to external financial data requests.
• Manage team activities, progress, and scheduling to ensure successful project performance.
• Liaise with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members, consultants, contractors, and private industry.
