This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and company assets associated with pork processing while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves troubleshooting facility and equipment problems that occur in the day-to-day operations, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely. The technician will perform work that encompasses various technical skills, including hydraulics, electrical systems, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC/DC control wiring, welding, and pneumatic systems. In addition to troubleshooting, the technician will set up, adjust, and break down production machinery as needed. Scheduled preventative maintenance duties are a critical part of the job, requiring the technician to read and understand equipment manuals and instructions thoroughly. Daily reports and paperwork must be completed to document maintenance activities and equipment status. The work environment is typically wet and humid, with temperatures ranging from 35 to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The job may require climbing ladders, working from elevated platforms, standing, and walking on hard floors, as well as occasionally lifting weights of up to 60 lbs. Maintenance crews typically work 4-5 days per week, with 2-3 days off, and will include shifts on Sundays and some major holidays when necessary. Candidates should be prepared to work C shift (overnight) and welding experience is preferred.
