About the position

The General Manager at Aimbridge Hospitality is responsible for overseeing all operations at the Hilton Garden Inn Huntsville South/Redstone Arsenal. This role involves optimizing financial performance, maintaining high service quality, and ensuring compliance with regulations and brand standards. The General Manager will lead operational initiatives, manage a team, and serve as the primary communication link between guests, staff, and corporate representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of hotel operations and provide support to the management team and front-line associates.
  • Optimize financial performance and maintain high quality product and service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations as well as company and brand standards.
  • Establish priorities and lead key operational initiatives such as sales plans and budget development.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to maximize revenue and control expenses.
  • Conduct daily ABR meetings with the Director of Sales to discuss prospecting and account calls.
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including client meetings and hosting events.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions to ensure effective training and review of sales and operations efforts.
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and ensure adherence to budgeted productivity levels.
  • Develop managers for future advancement through training programs and maintain direct contact with management trainees.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Forecast the hotel's financial position by estimating revenues and expenses and prepare management interviews for hiring procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hotel management experience.
  • Hilton brand experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of hotel-related food & beverage experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well in stressful high-pressure situations and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to handle workplace issues.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources and adjust as needed.
  • Effective listening and communication skills to resolve concerns raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Ability to work with financial information and perform basic arithmetic functions.
