About the position

The General Manager I at Benchmark Electronics, Inc. is responsible for establishing business objectives for the site and providing direction to achieve these objectives across various sectors, including aerospace, defense, and medical equipment. This role emphasizes ethical standards, employee morale, and customer satisfaction while driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Completes long-range planning in support of corporate goals and objectives.
• Manages site operations to reduce costs, increase revenue, and exceed customer expectations.
• Pursues new customer and business expansion opportunities.
• Responsible for employee discipline and morale.
• Supports corporate and senior staff in establishing and implementing policies and procedures at the site.
• Provides quarterly business and capital investment forecasts.
• Leads management and support staff to continuously improve site performance in velocity, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.
• Participates in Benchmark initiatives through active participation in projects, education, and training programs.
• Reviews pricing and costs of current and prospective customers to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Provides leadership in the site's Lean Sigma program to align with corporate goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a recognized organization.
• 5 years of experience in contract manufacturing.
• Extensive experience in customer relationship management.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and personnel.
• Proficient in all areas of manufacturing operations.
• Ability to influence at all levels within the organization.
