About the position

The General Manager at Layne's Chicken Fingers is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring adherence to company policies, and maintaining a high standard of service and food quality. This role involves managing staff, driving sales and profit growth, and fostering a positive work environment that reflects the company's culture. The General Manager acts as a brand ambassador, engaging with the local community and enhancing customer experiences while upholding the restaurant's core values.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, train, manage, and develop staff, overseeing the orientation process and performance management.
  • Communicate closely with leadership regarding hiring, counseling, and separation decisions, ensuring compliance with HR policies.
  • Manage the restaurant budget and understand financial accountability.
  • Perform regular cash and safe audits and monitor sales and cost trends.
  • Maintain the restaurant in a clean condition and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Represent Layne's in alignment with the brand's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
  • Engage with the local community to promote Layne's and enhance its popularity.
  • Enhance the quality of customer experience and maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Participate in employee meetings and training programs.
  • Maintain food cost while ensuring quality standards and manage purchasing and inventory controls.
  • Conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs.
  • Handle sudden situations such as staff or customer complaints and emergencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required; a college degree in hospitality and management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous fast food drive-through supervisory experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptable to new systems quickly.
  • Ability to lift and carry, push or pull heavy objects up to fifty pounds; kneel, bend or stoop, ascend or descend stairs.

Nice-to-haves

  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification.
  • Local restaurant marketing experience.
