About the position

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic General Manager to lead The Little Gym of Maplewood. In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations, drive the financial and operational success of the gym, and build strong relationships with local families and the broader Maplewood community. The General Manager is a full-time career-level position responsible for the overall performance and success of The Little Gym of Maplewood. You will report directly to the owners and ensure that our high standards for curriculum, customer service, and staff management are met. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for achieving business growth goals and overseeing the gym’s financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in providing outstanding customer service and a membership experience second to none.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the gym, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Hire, manage, and oversee the training and development of staff.
  • Occasionally teach engaging classes based on our proven curriculum.
  • Maintain the facility and ensure equipment is safe and operational.
  • Oversee membership sales and promote The Little Gym to new and existing customers.
  • Foster a positive, high-energy, and fun work environment.
  • Actively participate in community outreach to drive brand awareness and membership growth.
  • Build and maintain strong connections with the Maplewood community by attending local events, collaborating with schools and organizations, and ensuring that The Little Gym is seen as a valuable resource for families in the area.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow membership and increase revenue through community engagement and innovative programming.
  • Monitor and manage the gym’s financial performance, including budgeting, expenses, and profit margins.
  • Set long-term goals for business growth and continuously evaluate performance to ensure these goals are met.

Requirements

  • Proven management experience with a track record of successfully leading a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • P&L management experience.
  • Passionate about working with children and making a positive impact in the community.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff and customers.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • A background in child development, physical education, or related fields is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Experience managing and growing a business or community-focused organization, with a proven track record of increasing revenue and customer satisfaction.
