General Production Manager (GPM) Plant 1-Nights

About the position

The General Production Manager (GPM) is responsible for overseeing the various department(s) of responsibility and for meeting Department/Company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety. Responsible for the development and training of Supervisors and TEAM members, working within the guidelines of Company Policies, to meet the current and future needs of the Company. Responsible for quick and timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager on all exceptions regarding productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety, and managing the correction of areas which are out of acceptable parameters. Ensure department compliance within Company policies, law, and regulations which include USDA, SSOP and HACCP programs, and all OSHA required safety programs. Ensure the safety of our TEAM members is maintained by overseeing the administration of safety orientations, training, and meetings as required, to assist in attaining zero incidents. Participate in department meetings in the planning process, along with the testing and development of techniques/processes. Ensure proper maintenance of Company assets; make recommendations for acquiring necessary items to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee various departments to meet company goals on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
• Develop and train Supervisors and TEAM members.
• Provide timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager on productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, and safety.
• Manage corrections for areas out of acceptable parameters.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations including USDA, SSOP, HACCP, and OSHA.
• Administer safety orientations, training, and meetings to maintain safety.
• Participate in department meetings for planning and development of techniques/processes.
• Ensure proper maintenance of company assets and recommend necessary acquisitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in the poultry processing industry with progressively increased responsibility.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively.
• Strong leadership skills and internal drive to succeed.
• Ability to prioritize and adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $98,750 to $122,500 per year.
