About the position

The Global Accountant position at Lockheed Martin involves supporting international accounting tasks, including non-US filings, financial reporting, and audit requirements for foreign subsidiaries and branches. The role is part of the Global Accounting team based in Lakeland, FL, which is responsible for the corporation's financial reporting obligations both in the US and internationally. The accountant will work closely with employees in various jurisdictions, perform account reconciliations, and support technical accounting initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support international accounting tasks such as non-US filings and financial reporting.
• Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Perform monthly, annual, and ad-hoc compilation and reconciliation activities for financial reporting and audits.
• Calculate revenue and balance sheet positions for production and services contracts (ASC606/IFRS15).
• Complete monthly tasks to maintain indirect (VAT or GST) filings.
• Support technical accounting initiatives or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Ability to develop relationships and work effectively with others in different locations.
• Ability to adjust work schedule as necessary to meet critical monthly deadlines.
• Previous finance or accounting work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Effective communication skills as demonstrated through the application and interview process.
• Experience accounting for contracts and revenue recognition per ASC606/IFRS15.
• Experience working with external financial auditors.
• Experience creating and reviewing financial statements.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• International accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Ability to independently research and resolve complex accounting matters.
• Experience with SAP.
