About the position

As the Executive Director of Benefits at Syneos Health, you will architect a comprehensive global benefits strategy that aligns with our mission to accelerate customer success. This role is pivotal in creating and optimizing programs that not only meet the diverse needs of our employees but also manage costs effectively for the business. You will be responsible for designing globally consistent yet locally relevant benefits programs that attract and motivate our workforce, including tailored offerings for executive leaders. Your focus will be on enhancing employee well-being through modernized benefits that foster a healthier and happier workforce while ensuring fiscal responsibility. In this position, you will lead the development and communication of a global benefits strategy that emphasizes competitiveness, compliance, and continuous improvement across all regions where Syneos operates. You will design executive benefit plans that cater specifically to the needs of our executives, such as supplemental health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs. Your role will involve guiding decision-making processes by providing detailed analyses and innovative recommendations to management and HR leaders, ensuring that our benefits offerings are aligned with overall company strategy and employee needs. You will also be tasked with evaluating and improving benefits processes, maintaining governance to ensure program integrity and compliance, and building strong relationships with benefit vendors and consultants. Your leadership will extend to developing comprehensive communication and education programs that effectively convey the value of our benefits offerings to employees. Utilizing data analytics, you will measure the effectiveness of these programs and identify areas for improvement, ensuring that our benefits strategy evolves in line with employee satisfaction and business objectives. As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee the education of leaders regarding our benefits philosophy and objectives, continuously seeking to enhance vendor relationships and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will lead a team of benefits experts, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration across the organization, while partnering closely with HR and other functional teams to establish dynamic processes that support our global strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design and communicate a global benefits strategy for competitiveness, compliance, cost-effectiveness and continuous improvement across all regions.
  • Design Executive Benefit Plans tailored to the specific needs of Syneos Executives.
  • Guide the decision-making process and final benefits outcomes by providing detailed analysis and innovative recommendations.
  • Evaluate, improve and drive benefits processes and initiatives, including benchmarking.
  • Develop and maintain governance processes to ensure program cost controls, integrity, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Build and maintain exceptional relationships with benefit vendors, insurers, consultants and networks.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive employee communication and education programs regarding benefits offerings.
  • Utilize data analytics to measure the effectiveness of benefit programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional workgroups driving solutions that impact employee benefit opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain global benefits budget in collaboration with Finance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills to all members of the business and leadership.
  • Extensive experience in global benefits strategy and design.
  • Strong understanding of global benefit programs and regulations.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive benefit strategies.
  • Experience managing a global team and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytic skills to assess benefits programs and make data-driven decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare, retirement and other employee benefits.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align benefit programs with overall business objectives.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial analysis related to global benefit programs.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
