About the position

The Global Capital Purchasing and Operations Leader at Nouryon is a pivotal role responsible for leading the Global Capital Procurement Team, developing work processes, and engaging with key stakeholders in the Integrated Supply Chain. This position focuses on enhancing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvements in capital project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching for the Global Capital Procurement Team.
  • Serve as the owner of work process development, documentation, and review across the Indirects Procurement Team.
  • Engage with key Integrated Supply Chain Manufacturing stakeholders related to global capital projects.
  • Coordinate the leveraging of best practices and work process discipline for capital sourcing work processes.
  • Engage with strategic suppliers critical to capital project execution.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvements with key ISC Manufacturing leadership stakeholders.
  • Lead the team in delivering procurement-related value delivery metrics.
  • Drive working capital improvement within capital contract awarding and execution.
  • Support implementation of identified work process changes.
  • Develop and implement effective sourcing and contracting strategies for Global Capital Projects.
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiation power of suppliers.
  • Identify improvement areas and explore cost reduction opportunities.
  • Build alignment around targets with key stakeholders in the business and ISC.
  • Represent Nouryon and maintain a network of business contacts in support of organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement and/or capital project execution roles.
  • University bachelor's or master's degree level, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain and Manufacturing functions: strategy, processes, systems, and organization.
  • Experience working with Competitive Cost Country Sourcing Teams.
  • Strong project management experience with lean management methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience in Sourcing including Strategic Sourcing Methodology and contract management.
  • Experience in either direct or indirect global leadership.
