About the position

The Global Export Compliance Manager at Wabtec Corporation is responsible for reducing business risk by developing, implementing, managing, and monitoring the company's export compliance program. This role serves as the export regulatory subject matter expert, focusing on US regulations and ensuring compliance with all relevant export control, sanctions, and boycott regulations. The position is remote but may require hybrid work if based near specific hub locations.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with relevant government regulators as the principal point of contact for export control, sanctions, and boycott matters.
  • Support the strategic development of Wabtec's global Export Control Compliance program.
  • Execute the development, implementation, and periodic assessment of procedures, policies, and practices to address export and sanctions compliance risk across business units.
  • Collaborate with individual business units to embed export compliance requirements into operations.
  • Develop and maintain a risk assessment plan in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee Wabtec's third-party screening program and ensure proper screening is conducted.
  • Ensure accurate export control classifications for goods, technology, and software are maintained.
  • Develop and deliver export control, sanctions, and boycott training to key stakeholders annually and provide ad-hoc training as needed.
  • Manage export or OFAC licenses, technical assistance agreements, and other government authorizations company-wide.
  • Ensure required recordkeeping is maintained per jurisdictional and Wabtec business requirements.
  • Implement monitoring and audit programs to prevent, detect, and respond to non-compliance issues.
  • Manage Wabtec's Sanctions Review Board tollgate process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • US Customs Brokerage License and/or CUSECO preferred (EU or UK equivalents considered).
  • 8+ years relevant export control or trade compliance experience in a manufacturing or service business.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of cross-function and geography collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills as part of a team.
  • Detailed knowledge of US export control, sanctions, and boycott regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in creating, implementing, managing, and improving Trade Compliance programs.
  • Strong English language skills are a must.
  • Good commercial awareness and business acumen.
