About the position

The Global Safety & Security Senior Manager-Engineer for Physical Security Technology at Visa is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of the Global Electronic Security Systems (ESS). This role involves troubleshooting complex software and hardware issues, maintaining databases, overseeing security assessments, and collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs. The position requires a strong understanding of security systems, risk management, and the ability to provide timely solutions for critical incidents affecting the ESS.

Responsibilities

  • Act on ATC responsibilities and tasks to maintain compliance with ShiftLeft and audit requirements.
  • Manage ShiftLeft process covering software and hardware architecture review, risk remediation, and support of development to production environments.
  • Interpret cyber security test results and provide recommendations for remediation of findings.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions for critical incidents affecting the ESS and its subsystems.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues related to connecting ESS hardware to primary and secondary ethernet infrastructure.
  • Configure servers, services, and selected data feeds such as SSH, SFTP, HTTP, SMB, Certs, etc.
  • Generate metrics and KPIs for overall function and publish via GSS and Corporate Services dashboards.
  • Handle requests for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for existing applications and tools.
  • Maintain production environment through monitoring and maintenance of the ESS.
  • Develop and maintain applications and tools for internal and external use, using programming languages as required.
  • Support existing applications and codebases developed by previous engineers and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Provide evidence and data for internal and external audits ensuring accuracy and quality of information.
  • Ensure that GSS technology and architecture represent industry best practices.
  • Maintain understanding of innovation and developments in the industry and assess future technologies.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in troubleshooting, development, and maintenance of security systems and applications.
  • Proficient in various programming languages, such as C#, PowerShell, Bash, and other ‘C' variations.
  • Expertise in Linux and Windows environments, and in automating tasks and processes.
  • Knowledge of security systems and protocols, such as CCURE, Genetec, D3, SRMS, and badge encoding.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with networking and server administration.
  • Experience with developing and supporting applications and tools for security and operations purposes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Nine or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree.
  • Eight or more years of work experience in a Corporate Security position, or equivalent law enforcement or military experience.
  • Five or more years of international jurisdiction experience.
  • Six or more years' experience in applicable domain(s).
  • Four years' experience in risk management / assessment methodologies.
  • Specialized certifications, associations, and memberships desired.
