About the position

The Global Sales Manager at Nippon Express USA is responsible for driving growth in large global accounts within the international logistics industry. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, focusing on securing and managing new global account business while developing strong relationships with C-Level executives. The position is based in the Corporate Sales Center in El Segundo, CA, and reports to the West Region Sales Center Assistant General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for growth of large global accounts.
  • Securing and managing new global account business across Air, Ocean, Warehousing/Distribution, and 3PL.
  • Developing strong C-Level relationships within existing and target accounts.
  • Managing a global customer list of 20-25 target accounts.
  • Conducting strategic sales initiatives to identify global opportunities and decision makers.
  • Making 8-10 direct customer calls per week.
  • Maintaining personal contact with large key customers and researching their needs.
  • Determining market strategies and goals for each product and service.
  • Evaluating product and service marketability based on customer needs.
  • Establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or economics.
  • 7+ years of business experience in sales and marketing in freight forwarding/logistics.
  • 7+ years' experience in general management concepts such as planning, accounting, and administration.
  • Valid state motor vehicle license.
  • Experience in Semiconductor/High Tech Verticals and/or Lifesciences is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for conducting senior-level corporate meetings.
  • High level of negotiating skills for global contracts and processes.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM Software.

  • Experience in Semiconductor/High Tech Verticals and/or Lifesciences.
  • Strong coaching skills to mentor Regional/Local Sales staff.
