About the position
The Underground Light Duty Technician position at Barrick Gold Corporation offers an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company. This role is situated within the Goldrush Underground Maintenance department, which is part of Nevada Gold Mines. As an Underground Light Duty Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting all Underground Mobile Maintenance projects and planning. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that parts are located and staged for all scheduled maintenance jobs, coordinating machine issues with both internal and external Predictive Maintenance/Condition Monitoring groups, and collaborating with the Supply Chain to set appropriate stocking levels. You will also be responsible for material extensions, entering stock requests, assisting with on-time parts delivery, and analyzing past material usage along with component replacement forecasts to determine proper stocking levels at the site and local inventory levels held by Business Partners. The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate activities that align with NGM's best business practices. This may involve modifying existing procedures or creating new operating tools to maximize asset value while adhering to the Nevada Gold Mines Vision and Core Values. This position is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of the light vehicle fleet and large mining support equipment fleets.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of light vehicle fleet, large mining support equipment fleets
- Maintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience in mobile maintenance or a related field
- Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Predictive Maintenance/Condition Monitoring
- Familiarity with supply chain management
- Previous experience in a mining or heavy equipment environment
