About the position

The Graduate Admission Counselor plays a crucial role in the recruitment and enrollment of academically qualified students at Baldwin Wallace University. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including traveling to local colleges for recruitment events, meeting with prospective students, evaluating applications, and collaborating with various university departments to support admission initiatives. The counselor is expected to maintain frequent communication with prospective students and demonstrate a commitment to the university's values, particularly in relation to diversity and inclusiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to local colleges/universities for graduate school fairs and admission sessions.
  • Meet with prospective students and families to provide information about the institution and admission processes.
  • Evaluate applications and manage day-to-day communication and operations of programs within assigned territories.
  • Participate in programming and events as instructed by the assistant director and director.
  • Coordinate social media initiatives for the graduate and professional studies admission team.
  • Generate and implement new recruitment strategies for specific populations to obtain leads and prospects.
  • Collaborate with BW graduate partners, departments, clubs, advisors, and faculty to support admission and enrollment initiatives.
  • Manage ongoing projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to all university and departmental policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent public speaking, communication, customer service, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the value and mission of a comprehensive education, as well as to diversity and inclusiveness.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills required.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Social media and CRM experience preferred.
  • Previous university admission experience preferred.
