About the position

Worley is a global professional services company specializing in energy, chemicals, and resources, headquartered in Australia. We are currently seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer for an entry-level position based in Charleston, WV. This role is designed for individuals who are ready to support the chemical industry and contribute to our mission of driving innovation and sustainability in our projects. As part of the Worley Graduate Community, you will work under the supervision and mentorship of experienced engineers within the Mechanical and Piping Department. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in delivering engineering services that meet Worley’s and our customers' specifications, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. In this role, you will engage in various engineering activities, including conducting studies and analyses, preparing detailed designs and drawings, and developing specifications and reports. You will be involved in equipment sizing, load lists, schematics, and material take-offs, among other tasks. Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical engineers, as well as project stakeholders, will be essential. You will also participate in internal review meetings and contribute to problem-solving efforts by identifying issues and developing appropriate solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the engineering field while working on impactful projects that contribute to sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of engineering services to Worley and its customers.
  • Deliver engineering services that meet specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to studies, analyses, and recommend actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Engage in equipment sizing, load lists, schematics, and material take-offs.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering teams and project stakeholders.
  • Identify issues and develop appropriate solutions, seeking assistance when needed.
  • Participate in internal review meetings.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisory personnel.

Requirements

  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree or equivalent that will lead to registration as a professional Engineer.
  • Technical and practical skills in mechanical engineering and related fields.
  • Knowledge of fundamental requirements of mechanical engineering and basic requirements of other engineering disciplines.
  • Developing skills in mechanical engineering-specific software.
  • Some experience with relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
