About the position

Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) is seeking a candidate to collaborate with the dean in developing goals and objectives for the Graduate Program. The role involves assisting with communication, implementation, and achievement of these goals, as well as collaborating with graduate staff and admissions on student recruitment and application reviews. The candidate will create a ranked list of accepted students for scholarship and assistantship consideration, support the graduate office in program reviews, and assist in the recruitment and evaluation of part-time faculty. Additional responsibilities include providing leadership in course outline preparation, assisting in curriculum development, supporting the Registrar's Office in class scheduling, attending monthly Program Directors meetings, and advising students on course registration and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop goals and objectives for the Graduate Program in collaboration with the dean.
  • Assist with communication, implementation, and achievement of program goals.
  • Collaborate with graduate staff and admissions on student recruitment.
  • Review applications for admissions and create a ranked list of accepted students for scholarship and assistantship consideration.
  • Support the graduate office in Program Review, Curriculum Review, and internal program evaluation.
  • Assist in recruitment, hiring, orientation, and evaluation of part-time faculty.
  • Provide leadership in preparation and updates of course outlines and catalog information.
  • Assist in the development of curriculum and special programming.
  • Support Registrar's Office and grad programs staff in preparing class schedules.
  • Attend monthly Program Directors meetings with the Dean and graduate staff.
  • Advise students in course registration, progression in the program, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Terminal Degree
  • At least three years teaching experience at the college or graduate level
  • Experience with college level administrative duties including advising, admissions, course scheduling and managing part time faculty
  • Established professional practice
