About the position

The Grants Portfolio Manager at Newport Mental Health is responsible for overseeing the organization's grants portfolio, managing the grant lifecycle, and facilitating project oversight across departments. This role is crucial for building and maintaining the grant portfolio, ensuring that grant projects and goals are met, and collaborating with various teams to enhance funding opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal reviews of agency needs and assess feasibility of obtaining external funding for proposals.
  • Research and investigate funding sources through various means.
  • Develop and maintain an internal grant application process for efficient grant-seeking activities.
  • Manage a grant management system for tracking funded grants and compliance with requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of information on funding sources and grant writing.
  • Collaborate with fund personnel to gather input for projects and comply with data requests.
  • Coordinate and develop grant applications from conceptualization to submission.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities related to funding sources and grant reporting.
  • Participate in supervision with an openness to feedback and recommendations.
  • Identify and champion specific projects related to grant goals and outcomes.
  • Serve as grant writer for proposals and coordinate submissions with support.
  • Prepare and process letters, correspondence, and presentations for grant projects.
  • Provide support and follow up with project officers and communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Social Entrepreneurship.
  • 3 or more years of related work experience in grant writing and management.
  • Demonstrable track record in applying for, acquiring, and managing a portfolio of grants.
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare or associated industries is preferred.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills with active listening ability.
  • Flexible writing style tailored to different audiences and channels.
  • Strong quantitative skills and understanding of company economics.
  • Ability to cultivate strong interpersonal relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Commitment to professional development and evidence-based work is preferred.
