About the position
The County of San Diego is currently accepting job applications for the position of Graphic Artist. This role is classified as entry/journey level within the graphic arts series. Graphic Artists are tasked with preparing artwork to specification, utilizing a diverse range of techniques, media, and methods. The current vacancy is located within the San Diego County Library and the Department of Public Works, but the employment list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill vacancies in other departments. This position is eligible for appointment at Step 1, with an annual salary of $58,198.40, and county employees are subject to the county promotion rule for step placement in accordance with compensation order 1.3.5. Candidates for this position should have at least one year of full-time experience as a graphic artist, graphic designer, or illustrator for an agency or organization. The selection process includes interviews, which are scheduled to take place on or after September 27, 2024. Candidates should be prepared to complete background paperwork immediately upon receiving a job offer. The anticipated start date will depend on the successful completion of the background check and other mutually agreed upon conditions. Responsibilities
- Prepare artwork to specification using a variety of techniques, media, and methods.
- Collaborate with other departments to fulfill graphic design needs.
- Ensure that all artwork meets the required standards and specifications.
- Participate in the evaluation of graphic design projects and provide feedback.
- Maintain an organized portfolio of completed projects.
