About the position

The Growth Marketing Manager - Affiliate will lead the development and execution of affiliate marketing strategies aimed at driving digital subscription growth for Gannett's local markets and USA Today. This role involves managing the affiliate marketing calendar, nurturing relationships with affiliate partners, coordinating creative assets, and ensuring effective campaign execution while focusing on both immediate deliverables and long-term growth goals.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on affiliate performance metrics to maximize ROI.
  • Partner with marketing, data analytics, and product teams to align affiliate efforts with business strategies.
  • Develop promotional materials, banners, and landing pages tailored to affiliate needs.
  • Continuously refine the affiliate program by testing different promotional offers, creatives, and commission structures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing affiliates, providing support and resources.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new affiliate partners to expand the affiliate network.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and monitor for misuse of affiliate practices.
  • Stay updated with affiliate marketing trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in affiliate marketing.
  • Proactive communication skills with internal and external teams.
  • Proficiency with major affiliate platforms (e.g., Impact, Rakuten, ShareASale).
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Asana.
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
  • Experience managing and optimizing affiliate marketing budgets.
  • Experience in developing, launching, and optimizing affiliate marketing campaigns within a subscription-based business model.
