About the position

The Associate Hardware Engineer position at Curtiss-Wright involves contributing to the design and development of electronic hardware circuits, particularly in the context of Data Acquisition and Network architecture. This role is critical for flight test analysis and includes working on ruggedized embedded systems, analog sensors, and digital bus interfaces that meet stringent commercial and military requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with senior engineering staff on PWB board-level and possible FPGA and microcontroller design activities.
  • Analyze existing designs to support ongoing hardware developments.
  • Develop and collaborate on design elements with senior staff to meet customer requirements on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with Test engineering to develop support hardware and software for internal testing of various products for design verification and qualification.
  • Collect, document, and analyze data sets to facilitate the successful bring up of new hardware within the engineering department.
  • Support Operations assembly & test personnel with production floor issues and RMA activities.
  • Assist in generating end user product documentation.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for customer fielded products.
  • Generate concise design documentation and analysis reports related to Flight test telemetry and general electrical engineering and data processing concepts.
  • Undertake any other activities in support of end products as reasonably requested by management.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
  • Knowledge of Analog and digital circuit design concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic power supply design.
  • Working knowledge of Verilog or VHDL for FPGA development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently to conduct engineering research.
