About the position

The Hardware Quality Engineer at Light & Wonder is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive hardware testing strategies, plans, and cases for gaming systems and components. This role involves validating system performance, stability, and functionality, as well as providing cross-functional support in troubleshooting issues. The engineer will work closely with product design and hardware development teams to ensure quality standards are met across various hardware assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Writes, reviews, interprets, and executes test cases based on defined and undefined system requirements and specifications.
  • Works together with product design and HW Development teams to determine test parameters, establish quality guidelines and helps troubleshoot issues.
  • Develops testing strategies, test plans, and test procedures.
  • Executes product testing and validation specific to internal and external performance/quality requirements.
  • Validates, develops, and supports functional test kits for hardware assemblies to be used by vendors.
  • Troubleshoots designs using test equipment and proper analysis techniques.
  • Creates comprehensive and clear documentation of all test procedures and technical reports.
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and presents testing results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assumes responsibility for the accuracy of work processes and flow of multiple tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in testing, hardware, electrical and mechanical engineering
  • Experience in testing and manufacturing processes of electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Knowledge of hardware and software integrations
  • Understanding of electrical & mechanical engineering theory, principles, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear and concise test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Overall knowledge of hardware and software testing methodologies
  • Experience with test Automation and methodologies
  • Familiar with modern testing equipment, e.g. oscilloscopes, digital analyzers, multi-meters, function generators, and spectrum analyzers
  • Ability to troubleshoot with minimal guidance
  • Effective multitasking ability
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
