About the position

Our ideal Hardware Test Engineer will have an aptitude, ambition, and attitude to determine compliance with device specifications and their functionality. As a Red 6 Hardware Test Engineer you will design, implement, and execute plans to test computer hardware and optical systems. You will work closely with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, customers, partners, and vendors to ensure that hardware products meet specified requirements and are free from errors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ATARS.
  • Designing, developing, and executing test plans for computer hardware and related equipment.
  • Creating test plans and equipment, implementing, and monitoring test processes, and completing hardware product validations.
  • Establishing test tool requirements and recording test results.
  • Designing test plans and test cases to validate new products and improve existing ones.
  • Providing technical support to technicians for various testing tasks.
  • Developing technical specifications for testers and accepting test equipment.
  • Designing test fixtures and test tools for design review and verification.
  • Using a variety of debugging tools to carry out failure analysis.
  • Keeping track of test outcomes and communicating any negative outcomes to the relevant teams.
  • Working closely with Red 6 engineering teams to design test interfaces for all products.
  • Teaming up with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, marketing, and customers to define a mechanical design for a variety of electronic products.
  • Developing hardware validation plans and conducting functional and electrical verification of products.
  • Debugging and testing manufacturing issues at the factory.
  • Interfacing with testing laboratories and suppliers for the development and cost requirements.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience in the aviation domain is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python and C++.
  • A strong understanding of test equipment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Command line and Linux experience.
  • Must be able to commute or move to Louisville, Colorado. On-site work required (relocation negotiable).
  • This position may require a security clearance. To obtain clearance, employees must show proof of US Citizenship.
