About the position

The Head Girls Golf Coach at Catalina Foothills High School is responsible for advising, coordinating, and supporting the sport staff in conjunction with the athletic director and principal. The coach will instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success, while also instilling moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence. The position requires a thorough understanding of athletic policies and regulations, and the ability to manage practices and competitions ethically and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Advise, coordinate, and support the sport staff with the athletic director and principal.
  • Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training.
  • Implement athletic policies approved by the high school administration.
  • Maintain discipline and manage grievances among athletes.
  • Develop, organize, and supervise practices and competitions.
  • Ensure adherence to AIA and NFHS rules of the sport.
  • Assist the athletic director in scheduling and providing transportation for events.
  • Prepare for scheduled sport events or practices.
  • Advise the athletic director on policy changes.

Requirements

  • Valid Arizona Teacher Certification or Substitute Certificate.
  • Employment as a teacher at the Catalina Foothills School District preferred.
  • Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
  • Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of golf.
  • CPR certification.
  • Current, valid IVP Level One fingerprint clearance card without restrictions.
  • Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record.

Benefits

  • Stipend range of $2,700 - $3,224 DOE.
