The Head of Engineering at Howl is a leadership role responsible for driving the technical vision and overseeing engineering operations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee Engineering and Engineering leadership
  • Develop and execute the technology roadmap to align with business goals and market demands
  • Lead, mentor, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
  • Oversee the design, development, and operations of product architecture and infrastructure
  • Implement best practices for software development
  • Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines effectively
  • Enhance collaboration rituals for building, decision-making, and planning
  • Work closely with the executive team to align engineering and data initiatives with overall product and business strategy
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, data, product, and other key stakeholders
  • Drive innovation by staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Performance manage and grow the engineering team

Requirements

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in engineering leadership roles
  • Experience (5+ years) in building and managing a data strategy, data engineering, and analytics teams
  • Strong understanding of data architecture and management
  • Deep knowledge of modern technology stacks and software development practices
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be US based
