The Health Information Management Instructor position at Cincinnati State is a full-time, hybrid role located at the Clifton Campus in Cincinnati, Ohio, with flexible remote opportunities. This position is pivotal in facilitating experiential learning, which is essential for the successful completion of the Health Information Management (HIM) and Coding Specialist Certificate programs. The instructor will actively participate in curriculum and course development, ongoing program outcome evaluation, student competency assessment, and the maintenance of program accreditation. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated team player who can also work efficiently independently, committed to advancing the shared vision and goals of the Cincinnati State Health Information Management program. In this role, the instructor will deliver asynchronous, online courses in Health Information Management based on established course descriptions, learning outcomes, and syllabi. They will provide academic support to students, assisting and guiding them on curriculum, scheduling, professional practice experience, career pathways, and on-campus/online labs as needed. The instructor is expected to offer ten office hours per week, with a minimum of four hours on campus. Continuous improvement in instructional quality is a priority, and the instructor will explore innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery approaches to enhance the learning experience. Additionally, the instructor will contribute to the creation of new courses and curricula while maintaining existing ones. They will design assessments and provide constructive feedback to ensure alignment with AHIMA associate degree competencies and HIM Accreditation Standards. Employing diverse teaching methods and materials suitable for students with varying educational backgrounds and learning styles is essential. The instructor will also engage actively in college and divisional activities, meetings, and committees, promoting program awareness through strategic outreach and engagement initiatives.
