About the position

The Healthcare Facility Preparedness Manager will oversee emergency planning and response for healthcare entities and associations throughout New York State. This role is crucial for ensuring that healthcare facilities are prepared for emergencies and can respond effectively to various situations. The manager will supervise staff, coordinate with subject matter experts, and ensure compliance with federal grant program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee emergency planning and response for healthcare entities in New York State.
  • Manage all aspects of the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) federal grant program requirements.
  • Develop deliverables that meet grant requirements and Department priorities based on identified gaps/needs.
  • Supervise two direct reports.
  • Lead and participate in workgroups with appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SME) related to healthcare facility preparedness.
  • Coordinate with other SMEs on Department plans and ensure coordination across Federal, State, and local response efforts.
  • Participate in health emergency preparedness coalition activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and six years of relevant experience; OR eight years of relevant experience.
  • At least two years of experience must include supervision of staff.
  • Relevant experience in healthcare facility preparedness, disaster preparedness logistics and operations, emergency preparedness and planning, and/or response.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong communications, interpersonal public speaking, facilitation, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and various communication platforms.
  • Experience interacting with Executive level staff within various levels of government.
  • Knowledge of disaster preparedness and response programs, goals, and objectives.
  • Successful completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 700, 800.
