About the position

Actalent is currently hiring Medical Technologists in Far Rockaway! The role requires working Monday to Friday with a rotating weekend overnight shift, with the first 2-3 months dedicated to day shift training.

Responsibilities

• Specimen evaluation & processing including acceptability of collection, identification, transport, storage and appropriateness of lab orders
• Review and verify normal and abnormal results to ensure accuracy prior to release
• Perform testing in compliance with all procedures and within stated turn-around times
• Perform quality control, calibrations, instrument checks and assigned maintenance duties as required
• Document all required information such as testing comments, maintenance, troubleshooting and results review

Requirements

• Medical Technologist certification
• Experience in laboratory testing and specimen processing
• Ability to work rotating shifts including overnight shifts

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with quality control and instrument maintenance
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
