About the position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) at ShiftMed, a healthcare staffing company that connects nurses with local healthcare facilities. The RN will have the flexibility to choose their shifts and work in various settings, including hospitals and outpatient clinics. The role emphasizes delivering safe, competent, and compassionate care to diverse patient populations while managing various nursing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and document comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement the identified plan; coordinate care delivery; employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Evaluate progress towards attainment of outcomes.
  • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
  • Evaluate one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines.
  • Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
  • Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
  • Integrate evidence-based nursing and research into practice.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing care.
  • Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and profession.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1 year of experience required for ED and MED/SURG.
  • 2 years of experience required for ICU, with some SICU experience required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Annual physical examination.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination.
