About The Position

The Home Health Infusion Registered Nurse at Pentec Health is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients with implanted intrathecal drug delivery devices. This full-time, permanent position allows for flexible scheduling to meet patient needs while traveling within a designated area. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, nursing interventions, and education, ensuring high-quality care in various settings including homes, hospitals, and clinics.

Requirements

  • Must have 3 years of RN experience and 24/7 accountability as needed.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and the ability to become licensed in another state if needed.
  • Demonstrate the skill and ability required for completion of Intrathecal Nurse Fellowship Orientation program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be a resourceful, proactive problem solver.
  • Exhibit accurate critical thinking and ability to quickly assess and react to changes in patient conditions.
  • Must be CPR certified, or have the ability to be certified.

Nice To Haves

  • ICU/ER/OR and/or home care experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of chronic pain/rehab principles.
  • BSN Education.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and nursing interventions for patients with implanted intrathecal drug delivery devices.
  • Perform pump refills, dose adjustments, and patient education regarding their treatment.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within the required timeframe.
  • Collaborate with prescribing physicians, patients, and caregivers as needed.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with state, HIPAA, and TJC requirements.
  • Participate in Shared Governance and integrate evidence-based research into practice.
  • Tailor education to meet each patient's and caregiver's healthcare literacy needs.
  • Promote integrative care techniques to assist patients with symptom management.
