About the position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Hospice of Marion County is responsible for providing physical care to patients in accordance with their care plans. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, supporting the primary caregiver and family, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients. The position is PRN, meaning it is on an as-needed basis, allowing for flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical care to patients as per the plan of care, including bathing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
- Change linens on patient beds and perform light housekeeping duties in the patient area.
- Assist with range-of-motion exercises and positioning of patients.
- Reinforce dressings as needed and follow infection control procedures.
- Support other Hospice team members in instructing primary caregivers and families regarding physical care and emotional support.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Florida State Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate required.
- Six months of experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification required.
- Valid Florida driver's license and access to a reliable automobile.
