About the position

The Hotel Maintenance Person position at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springville is a part-time role focused on maintaining the hotel facility to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for guests. The ideal candidate will have prior hotel maintenance experience, preferably in a branded hotel setting, and must possess a CPO certification along with practical experience in maintenance tasks. This role requires a mature, responsible, and knowledgeable individual who can work independently and take initiative. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining the physical building structure, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC systems, and ensuring that all related equipment is in top form. The responsibilities include conducting visual walk-throughs to assess the operation of the hotel’s physical systems, ensuring routine maintenance is completed in public spaces, meeting rooms, and back-of-house areas. The Maintenance Person will also manage special projects, adhere to purchasing procedures, and maintain effective energy management and preventive maintenance programs. Daily communication with the General Manager regarding the condition of building systems and equipment is essential, along with offering cost-effective proposals for maintenance. The candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the entire hotel facility including physical building structure and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct visual walk-throughs to assess the operation of the hotel’s physical systems.
  • Ensure completion of all routine maintenance to public spaces, meeting rooms, and back of house areas.
  • Perform and verify completion of all repairs and replacement projects.
  • Adhere to purchasing procedures and maintain effective energy management and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Update the General Manager daily regarding the overall condition of building systems and equipment.
  • Independently manage and complete special projects.
  • Complete IHG brand-required documentation and Quore project tasks properly.

Requirements

  • Must have prior, recent hotel maintenance experience.
  • CPO certification and related practical experience required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a maintenance assistant/associate preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a branded hotel setting is strongly preferred.
  • Technical certification in maintenance is preferred.
