About the position

The Hotel Handyman/Houseman position at Home2 Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton involves performing light maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure the property is well-maintained and guests have a comfortable experience. This dual role requires versatility and dedication to maintaining high standards in both maintenance and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on hotel facilities, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door locks, plumbing repairs, and painting.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting and reporting any major issues that require external contractors.
• Respond to guest requests for minor repairs in rooms or public areas in a timely manner.
• Support housekeeping team by replenishing linens and amenities.
• Clean and maintain common areas such as lobbies, hallways, and conference rooms.
• Assist with moving furniture, setting up rooms for events, and ensuring the general upkeep of the hotel.
• Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and assist with laundry duties as needed.

Requirements

• Reliable method of transportation
• Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman work, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of maintenance experience (Preferred)
• Driver's License (Preferred)
