About the position

The Hotel Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the profitability and smooth operation of the hotel during night shifts. This position involves conducting nightly audit-related duties while providing excellent hospitality and customer service to guests. The Night Auditor is responsible for welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, and handling various financial transactions, all while maintaining a friendly and efficient atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hotel information including room categories, rates, and local area.
• Input and retrieve guest information and manage billing and payment processes.
• Assist guests with check-out and ensure rooms are ready for the next guest.
• Operate a cash register and maintain an accurate drawer.
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Field guest complaints and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction.
• Receive and relay messages to guests as needed.
• Perform nightly balancing of in-room video and long-distance telephone services.
• Conduct nightly backup of the server and manage room key inventory.
• Communicate shift information to the Front Desk Supervisor and other staff members.
• Maintain a safe facility and adhere to safety practices.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to handle cash and perform financial transactions accurately.
• Basic computer skills for inputting and retrieving information.
• Good communication skills to interact with guests and staff.
• Ability to resolve guest complaints and issues effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in hospitality or hotel operations.
• Knowledge of hotel management software.
